Meet the founder

Hi, I’m Tracey.

Tracey Owusu, founder of Trace Assists

I started Trace Assists after fifteen years in pharmaceutical project management, coordinating complex work across several teams in a highly regulated environment. The work required careful planning, clear documentation and consistent follow-through.

The method I use now is the same one I relied on then: diagnose, roadmap, build, run. I work out what the business needs, put the priorities in order, build the systems and stay involved where ongoing ownership makes sense.

That environment taught me something I have carried into every client relationship since: the difference between a business that runs well and one that does not is not effort, talent or even tools. It is structure. Clear ownership. Processes that do not depend on one person remembering everything.

I have always been a problem-solver. I notice the friction points others have stopped seeing, and I am quick to fix them on the technology side. When I started working with smaller service businesses, I kept spotting the same pattern: capable owners doing excellent work, but losing time every week to systems that had never been built properly in the first place.

That gap is why Trace Assists exists.

Why Trace Assists

I wanted to use my experience where the difference could be felt.

After years of managing complex work in larger organisations, I wanted to apply what I had learned more directly. In a growing service business, one clearer process, a better handover or a system built around how the team actually works can make an immediate difference.

  1. 01

Understand before changing.I start with how the business works now, where the friction sits and what the people involved can realistically maintain.

  2. 02

Build for real use.The aim is not more documentation or tools for the sake of it. It is practical structure that people can follow and rely on.

  3. 03

Keep the bigger picture in view.I consider how each change affects the client experience, the team and the wider operation.

That is the approach behind Trace Assists: strategic thinking, practical implementation and calm, direct support.

Who I work with

Service businesses at the stage where structure stops being optional.

01

You run a growing service business and you are past the earliest startup stage.

02

The way you have always done things has stopped working. Onboarding is inconsistent, follow-ups slip or the business relies too heavily on memory.

03

You are ready to delegate the operational side, but you want a strategic partner rather than a task-taker.

04

You care about doing things properly. Quick fixes and duct-taped systems are not what you are looking for.

If that sounds like you, there is a good chance we will work well together.

Outside of work

A business built around a life, not the other way round.

I am a mum first, and Trace Assists is deliberately structured around the life I am building with my daughter.

That is why I understand the value of operations that run properly. Disorganised systems cost time, and time is the thing none of us get back. Outside the business, I read constantly, plan events for people I love and take the quiet time seriously.
